Wetland in a Box (WiaB) is a passive nature-based solution that partners with nature to accelerate the removal of chemicals and salts from wastewater.

WiaB significantly reduces operating costs, eliminates GHG emissions, directly addresses core water, energy and food security priorities, and enables the circular economy.

Our “Vertical Up-Flow” technology optimizes the flow of water across the roots of plant species.

This optimises the habitat for microbiota (microorganisms) to metabolise targeted chemicals.

WiaB treats wastewater to defined quality standards, making it suitable for:

• Industrial reuse
• Urban greening
• Irrigated agriculture

We are hybridising Nexus Eye’s AI and Machine Learning capabilities with Wetland in a Box to optimise variables in the treatment process.

We are also using Nexus Eye to test the efficacy of salt tolerant plants and microbiota in sequestering salts from groundwater.

This may include the development of hybrid Wetland in a Box and Reverse Osmosis modules to minimise the production of brine and enhance food security.
